The Commission consists of an advisory board of professional women and men with diverse backgrounds who volunteer their business and professional experience, their time, and their effort, to help fulfill the Commission's mission. Although the Commission is not political in nature, each of the two major political parties must be fairly represented, with no more than fifteen commissioners serving at one time. Appointed by the Executive Director of the Department of Workforce Services, commissioners may serve two to four year terms The commission has ongoing projects statewide, such as education outreach programs for teens. These programs teach character building skills, life skills, resiliency training, academics, and how to take advantage of career and employment opportunities. |
