Utah’s Unemployment Insurance Program Turning Heads Nationally
Winner for Unprecedented Third Year in a Row

SALT LAKE CITY—Utahns benefit from one of the best unemployment insurance programs in the nation according to a new award from the U.S. Department of Labor. Utah won the "Triple Crown" for its unemployment insurance division, which operates faster and more effectively than in any other medium sized state in the nation.

"We serve Utahns in need with a remarkably efficient system, and this award proves that," said Executive Director Jon Pierpont. "This is yet another accolade highlighting our commitment to quality customer service and wise stewardship of taxpayer dollars."

The division was recognized in all three of its functions: benefit payments, appeals decisions and tax operations. The award came at the National UI Directors Conference in Rapid City, South Dakota. Utah has won the award for the past three years—a feat never accomplished by any state before.
